Mon, 24 September 2007 Today I found out some tragic news. My best friend of 28 years took his life last Thursday. This is a very difficult time as I am struggling with how to feel about what has happened. Part of me is very angry while part of me is feeling a deep sorrow. My friend, Phil, lost his younger brother to suicide 12 years ago so it's hard for me to understand why he'd follow in his brother's steps and hurt so many around him. For those of you who have emailed me and sent me messages via Twitter, I sincerely appreciate your kind gestures. I recorded a show in tribute to Phil tonight. Since I will not be able to attend his funeral on Thursday thanks to US Air's greed, I thought maybe I should talk about my memories with him and what he meant to me. Comments[3] |
Sun, 23 September 2007 It's the last show before I head off to the expo and Jenny joins me for
the 139th episode of The Big Show. On this week's show we discuss
Nintendog guilt, the movie The Kingdom (spoiler free), my nephew has
some interesting future job choices, we celebrate a special occasion
for the show, Mark Furhman gets to cash in on OJ, Oh Blackwater keeps
on rollin, Senator Craig votes against your right to have the right he
used to plead guilty and if you're a soldier you're not gonna be home
anytime soon....it's a bit more political than usual but that's what
awaits you on this episode.Update: On this show, I mention that Blackwater employees have faced no charges for their attack on 15 civilians in Iraq. Right after I got done producing the show, I saw CNN had an update stating charges will be coming this week. Thu, 13 September 2007 Tonight's episode is a response to the Presidents speech on our
occupation of Iraq. In addition to my brief thoughts on his speech, I
read an op-ed piece from the NY Times. You can read the op-ed column via a link at Bigshowradio.com. Thanks for listening.Comments[0] |
Sun, 9 September 2007 I'll say right off the bat that this show deals with some subjects that are inappropriate for small children. Parental discretion is advised.
Jenny, Aaron and Cousin Mel go for broke on an extra long episode of
The Big Show. We discuss purity balls, catheters, Snoop Dogg's golf
outfits, keytars, gay sign language and people who let their 5 years
old kids take the wheel. That and a whole lot more awaits your ears. Questions of the week: Does having celebrity support of a candidate make you more or less likely to vote for someone? And a second question...What is the most quoted movie you hear about? Link-o-rama: Barely Podcasting, Tucker Tales, Riding with the window down, Love Long and Prosper, Zaldor's World Comments[0] |
